The two weeks Everest Base Camp trek is the most popular and loved trekking route in the World. This amazing journey takes you to the foothills of the renowned World's highest place, Mt. Everest (8,848.86m). The major attraction of the Everest Base Camp trek is Lukla, Namche bazeer, Tangboche Monastery, Khumbu Icefall, Kala Patthar, and itself Base Camp of Everest. 

From Lukla (the gateway of Everest) it takes 8 days to reach the base camp of Everest and 3 days to get back to Lukla. The trail passes through Namche Bazaar, a famous trading center of the Everest region. As the trek continues, it will go through several enchanting Sherpa settlements like Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Pheriche, and Gorak Shep. The last stopover for the trek is Gorak Shep, which has access to both Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.

How to Go to Everest Base Camp?
There are two options to get to Everest Base Camp: one is trekking and the other option is a direct helicopter flight tour. Most travelers prefer trekking as it is more budget-friendly, and they get plenty of time to explore the Himalayas. The trek starts from Lukla, and from there, it will take 8 days to reach Everest base camp, including two acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche.

The total trekking distance from Lukla to the base camp is 65 kilometers. So, both ways, the trekkers will cover around 130 kilometers. 

How Difficult Is Everest Base Camp Trek?
This trek is principally an adventure activity in high Himalaya. Trekking means uphill and downhill walking in remote part. So, your health and physical fitness plays the vital role for completing this lifetime adventure. If your level of fitness is good and your health is excellent, you can join this trek even you never done trekking in the high Himalayan region. On this trek, technical experience is not required, hiking experience is good, but the most essential thing is your physical strength and mental determination. Sure, trekking is physically demanding but it does not involve any serious technical walking and mountaineering. Peoples with good health and normal fitness can also easily join this trekking adventure. Every day you will walk in the Himalaya around 4 to 7 hours and reaches at highest place more than 5000m/16,400+ feet. So, health is a most essential part for your adventure travel. This holiday should be accessible to any active person with a sense of adventure.

Best time to visit Everest Base Camp Trek
Most recommended seasons for trekking are autumn (Sept, Oct, Nov) and spring (March, April, May). In these seasons, you will be rewarded by good weather, sunny and warm with clear sky and outstanding views. During monsoon (June, July, Aug) although there will be no problem for trekking, the issue could be of less visibility and rain. For the student of botanical, monsoon is blessing as the higher valleys, mountains and meadows blossom with flowers and abundant vegetation. You can trek in winter (Dec, Jan, and Feb) also; only the issue is cold weather with snowfall at higher elevations. 

Accommodation on The Everest Base Camp Trek
During this Everest Base Camp trip, we will spend two nights in Kathmandu at three-star standard hotels and during our trek we will spend 11 nights at standard mountain lodges/teahouses. Private rooms are available and the lodges are fairly basic. Blankets are generally provided. Most bathrooms are shared and toilets are the western version. Most of the Tea Houses have running water facility. Many of them have hot water available for bathing at additional cost. It is advisable to carry wet wipes as an alternative. 

There is a large dining room-cum-lounge, warmed by an iron cylinder, fitted with a chimney duct, in which a log fire is lighted. Most teahouses now also have electricity for charging small appliances - mobile phones and cameras - and there may be a small charge for this.

Everest Base Camp trail also offers luxury hotels. The luxury hotels have excellent quality services with high-standard accommodation facilities, electric blankets, room heaters, hot showers, and free WiFi around the hotel premises. 

Food on The Everest Base Camp Trek
Eating is a big part of traveling. Travelling with Advanced Adventures Nepal, you experience the vast array of wonderful food that is available in Mountain. We will provide three time meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner). On this trip, we can enjoy both traditional Nepalese cuisines serves the Dal Bhat (rice and lentils), as well as a variety of different food items, such as vegetables, noodles, potatoes and soup along with some have Nepali versions of western food such as pizza, pasta and French fries. Breakfast and dinner will be served from the teahouse or lodge menu where we spend the night. Lunch will be eaten at one of the trailside restaurants. Soft drinks, snacks and alcohahic beverages are available in most of the Tea Houses and trail side restaurants. 

When an individual in your crew is allergic to some food products, requires a special diet, or has specific religious food needs; we will arrange it as per your requirements if you notify them in advance. Also, the crew will carry fresh fruits supplies at a time along the trail.

Electricity and Internet Service
Everest trail is one of the renowned and established trekking routes in Nepal. You'll get all essential amenities en-route to Everest Base Camp. Thus, the electricity and internet facilities are quite good compared to other trekking regions of Nepal. There is a regular electricity facility until Pangboche; after that, most teahouses use solar power, so they will take a few bucks to charge electronic devices. Likewise, there are different ways to use the internet during the trek. You can buy a local SIM card or get the WiFi facility inside the teahouses. Some of them might charge extra costs. You can also buy an Everest Link Card, which will help you to access the internet. 

Travel Insurance
Trekking in Himalaya is full of fun and adventure but you have to be prepared for risks management. While you are in High Altitude region might face lots of difficulties. You may suffer from various health problems; injuries, illness and even High-altitude sickness can tear up your perfect itinerary.

Travel insurance is a safety net if things go wrong. At times, even a helicopter may be needed along with a rescue team, for ground evacuation and rescuing. So, every traveler MUST have the insurance covered against personal accident, medical expenses, emergency air ambulance/helicopter rescue services and personal liability. Everest Base Camp Trekking Permits
For trekking any route in the Everest region (including Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes, and Three Passes), you need to obtain two permits;

• Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit
• Sagarmatha National Park Permit
• If you are doing Everest Base Camp Trek via Jiri, you need an additional Gaurishankar Conservation Area Permit

Lukla Flight Diversion to Ramechhap
Currently, Lukla flight is being operated by Kathmandu directly. But during peak seasons like Spring and Autumn, the flight might be diverted to Ramechhap because of heavy air traffic. Generally, it doesn't change anything on the trek itinerary. It will take around 3-4 hours to drive to Ramechhap. From Manthali airport, it will take about 15-20 minutes to Lukla Airport. So, we will keep you posted on any flight-related updates.
