The Bhutan Short Tour take you to the major cultural hubs of Bhutan. During the trip you can learn the rich and unique traditions of this small, landlocked country. The pure air, tranquil atmosphere, and warm hospitality will leave you refreshed and rejuvenated by the end of your trip.

Your tour will begin with an exciting flight above some of the tallest mountains in the world. If it's a cloudless day, you will be able to spot the five 8000-meter giants: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga. After reaching Paro, you will head towards the capital city of Thimphu. 

Paro is the gateway to Bhutan, and is home to the country's only international airport. Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger's Nest Monastery, is a must-see attraction in Paro. The monastery is perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the valley floor, and is a stunning sight to behold.

Punakha is the former capital of Bhutan, and is home to the Punakha Dzong, a massive 17th century fortress. The dzong is located at the confluence of two rivers, and is a beautiful example of Bhutanese architecture.

Thimphu is the current capital of Bhutan, and is a bustling city with a mix of old and new. The National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the third king of Bhutan, is a popular tourist attraction in Thimphu.

This short 4-day tour is also ideal for people who are on a short break. People of all ages can do this trip. For those who are not used to hiking, the hike to Taktsang Monastery can be grueling. If you don't feel comfortable with the hike, you can skip it and choose an alternate sightseeing spot. Spring, autumn, and early winter are the ideal months to tour Bhutan, you can nevertheless do this trip any time of the year.

Day 01 Arrival and sightseeing in Paro
Altitude: 2,250m/7,382ft
Accommodation: Hotel in Paro

Your flights to Bhutan provides an amazing views of the Himalayas including the sacred Jumolhari and Jichu Drake peaks. At the airport, we will be greeted by a representative from Advanced Adventures who will take us to our hotel. Today, we will visit Rinpung Dzong which was built in 1646AD and now houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. We will also visit Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country and Drugyal Dzong, built in 1646AD to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. Overnight in Paro.

Day 02 Paro to Thimphu, hike to Taktsang Monastery
Hiking: 4-5 hrs, Driving: 54 km
Altitude: 3,180m/10,434ft
Accommodation: Hotel in Thimphu 
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today after breakfast, we start ur hike for 4 -5 hours to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery situated at 3,180 meters. Guru Rinpoche (spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands.  After having explored the monastery, we hike down to the valley floor. This afternoon, we will drive to Thimphu, and spend the night.

Day 03 Sightseeing in Thimphu
Altitude: 2,320m/7,612ft
Accommodation: Hotel in Thimphu 
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today in the morning, we visit Memorial Chorten (built in memory of the third King of Bhutan who reigned from 1952-1972), nunnery temple, mini zoo to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Today, we also visit other landmarks of Thimphu including the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Bhutanese traditional painting school, folk heritage museum, the majestic Tashichho Dzong and the traditional paper factory.If we are in Thimphu during the weekends, we can explore the Weekend Market. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 04 Final Departure
Meals: Breakfast

Today after breakfast we bid farewell to the tiny Himalayan Kingdom and her friendly people. We leave Thimpu for Paro airport which will take us around 1 hour. Druk Air generally departs in the morning to avoid adverse weather conditions. Therefore, after taking breakfast, we will be taken to the airport in the morning for final departure.
