Trip Overview

Yala Peak, a trekking peak nestled in the Langtang region of Nepal, offers a fantastic adventure for those seeking a taste of Himalayan mountaineering. Reaching 5,500 meters, it's a manageable climb ideal for first-time mountaineers or those looking to acclimatize to higher altitudes. The journey begins with a scenic trek through the Langtang Valley, followed by an ascent of the peak itself, which involves some scrambling and snow slopes. From the summit of Yala Peak, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Shishapangma (8,013 meters), the world's 14th highest peak. The trek also allows you to experience the culture and traditions of the Tamang people who inhabit the Langtang region.

The Langtang Valley is renowned for its beauty, with snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and lush forests. Yala Peak is a great option for those who want to experience the thrill of mountaineering without the need for technical climbing skills, and with just a park entrance permit, it's become an even more accessible adventure.

Day 01 Arrival Day in Kathmandu

Welcome to the land of Himalayas! On arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu; Advanced Adventures Trek Guide will greet you then transfer you to our trip hotel. Check in to hotel and free time for leisure. Late afternoon, we meet again and brief your upcoming Annapurna Panorama Trek with us and introduce our trekking team. Evening, we host welcome dinner (Eating Nepali Food) at one of the finest local restaurant with music and ethnic dance. Overnight Kathmandu.

Day 02 Guided Katmandu Valley Tour. Trek Preparation Day

With easy morning and breakfast, today we will start the half day tour of Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu Valley is probably one of the most interesting cultural valleys with superb blend of Hinduism and Buddhism and mega edifices dedicated to deities off these religions. Moreover, the historic courtyards and palaces inside Kathmandu are artistically fascinating, which date back to ancient and medieval eras. Firstly we will visit to the pilgrimage sites of Hindus- Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is an abode of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba). The sights of cremating dead body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati is an offbeat cultural experience. From Pashupatinath we drive to nearby Boudhanath, the biggest Buddhist monastery in Asia-  This Stupa is one of the holy Stupas for the entire Nepalese. You can circumambulate around this mega shrine clockwise to witness authentic Tibetan culture scattered everywhere at Boudhanath.  Next, we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square which is old Royal palace of Kathmandu where we can see lot of temples built in different eras by different kings. The home to Kumari (Living goddess) manifests fascinating architecture and walk in a freak street nearby reminds of Hippy era in Kathmandu. Free evening in Kathmandu. O/N at Hotel.

Day 03 Kathmandu- Syabrubesi
Altitude: 1,470m/4,8224 ft 
Activities: 5 hours drive

We will start early drive to Syabrubesi by bus; the starting point of the trek. During the travel you will pass through many small villages on the way will be fascinating you with snippets. Overnight in Syabrubesi.

Day 04 Trek from Syabrubesi-Lama Hotel 
Altitude: 2,650m/8,6944 ft
Activities: 5-6 hours walk
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Crossing through the suspension bridge and heading precipitously along a stream, river you are following is mostly the Langtang River. You can enjoy the walk going through oak, rhododendron and bamboo forests. There is also a variety of wildlife in these forests: yellow-throated martens, wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears. Overnight in Lama Hotel 

Day 05 Trek from Lama Hotel- Langtang Village 
Altitude: 3,400m/1,1154 ft
Activities: 5-6 hours walk

After having breakfast you will continue your trip to your next destination. You are starting your trip descending towards a steep forest slope to the Langtang River. You cross a bridge and head up with a winding path. The trail descends into a valley to cross a stream and climbs past several water-driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang .Overnight in Langtang. 

Day 06 Trek from Langtang – Kyanjin Gompa 
Altitude: 3,870m/12,693 ft
Activities: 4-5 hours walk
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today, pass goes through the tiny village, stone-built houses and climb to a Chorten and passed a huge mani along a gentle path of a hill. The valley relocates to a U-shaped one as you enter into a level of riverbed. Today is short walking; allowing time to acclimatize and exploring the cheese factory, monastery in Kyangin. O/N at Mt. Lodge. 

Day 07 Day Visit to Cherku Ri & Kyanjin Ri (4,800m/15,748ft). Exploration Day in Kyangin Gumba 
Altitude: 5150m/16892 ft
Activities: 5-6 hours walk
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Morning breakfast then, we would hike to Cherku Ri hill (5150m), at winter this walking would be in very much in a snow and ice. The top of the hill offer great views of Langtang Himalayas panorama, also if weather is best, then you could see the Tibetan range deserted hills in a distance as well. Return back to hotel, lunch. Afternoon, hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,800m/15,748ft), enjoy the sunset views with Himalayas. Return back to Kyangin and O/N at Mt. Lodge. 

Day 08 Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Base Camp
Altitude: 4,500m/14,764ft 
Activities: 5 to 6 hours Walk
Accommodation: Tented Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

We will move on with the track that crosses the glacier and will gradually climb to the base camp. We will get fantastic views of Yala Peak, Langtang Lirung, and other nearby high peaks while on our hike. As soon as we get to the base camp, we will swiftly erect our camps and perform any necessary checks on our health and climbing equipment in order to successfully ascend Yala Peak.

Day 09 Summit Yala Peak and back to Yala Base Camp 
Altitude: 5732m/18800ft
Activities: 7 to 8 hours Walk
Accommodation: Tented Camp

We will finally reach Yala Peak, our intended summit. After being fully prepared and acclimatized, we will set out early because strong afternoon winds can present difficulties that will make climbing impossible. We will go to Yala Peak by following our knowledgeable climbing expert's lead and advice. From the point, you'll get awe-inspiring vistas of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo, Naya Kanga Peak, and numerous other snow-capped high mountains await us once we reach the summit. We will spend some time at the peak before returning to the base camp using the same route we used to ascend.

Day 10 Trek from Yala Base Camp to Langtang Village 
Altitude: 3,480m/11,417 ft
Activities: 5 to 6 hours Walk
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodges
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

We will retrace our steps after ascending Yala Peak. We will use the same route that passes via Kangjin Gompa before carrying on hiking till we reach Langtang hamlet. 

Day 11 Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru Village 
Altitude: 2100m/6888 ft 
Activities: 5 to 6 Hours Walk

Firstly trail decent to river, cross the river and ascend to Thulo Syabru. You will see the fascinating view of Langtang Himal and more. On the way of your trek you will pass through pine and Junieerps forests. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.

Day 12 Trek from Thulo Sybru Village to Sing Gompa 
Altitude: 3100m/10168 ft 
Activities: 4 to 5 hours Walk

You take the broad trail climbing up to Dimsa village and the trial continues less steeply, through rhododendron, hemlock, and Oak forests to Sing Gompa. On the way to your trek, you will see fantastic views of Langtang Himal and Langtang valley. Sing Gompa is another popular place for Cheese. Over night in Shin Gompa

Day 13 Trek from Sing Gumba to Gosainkunda Lake 
Altitude: 4370m/14334 ft 
Activities: 5 to 6 Hour Walk

The trail ascends smoothly through rhododendron covered point to the top of the rim and through a forested area. The area in-between Sin Gompa and Laurebinayak is a sanctuary for the red panda, an endangered species that the Nepalese call cat bear. You return to the ridge path and climb a wider route through alpine country to arrive at a Gosainkunda. Explore the Lakes and overnight in Gosainkunda.

Day 14 Trek From Gosaikunda Lake to Dhunche ( All Descend Walk) 
Altitude: 1950m/6396 ft 
Activities: 7 to 8 Hour Walk

Today we take descend walk down to Dhunche. Walking involves through forest, local villages and arrive Dhunche at late afternoon. Manage transport for following day and over night at lodge.

Day 15 Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu 
Altitude :1350m/4428 ft 
Activities: 5 to 6 Hour Drive 
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Farewell dinner

Today at early morning we take local bus to Kathmandu from Dhunche. This bus journey is very natural and we arrive to Kathmandu at evening. In evening, we host farewell dinner at one of the finest restaurant in town. Overnight at hotel.

Day 16 Final Departure from Kathmandu 
Altitude: 1350m/4428 ft 
Meals: Breakfast

Today is your last morning with us. After breakfast, you are free from us. You may have time for last minute shopping. We will transfer you to the Kathmandu airport and our trip ends.
