Trip Overview
Current special is for all our adventurous travelers keen for a different holiday experience in Nepal!
This Annapurna Community Trek takes you not just on the famed Annapurna Base Camp Trek for an unforgettable 7 day trek, but also on a rural volunteer experience in the Ghorka region. This is one of the more needy regions of Nepal having suffered greatly in the 2015 earthquake, and your support is greatly appreciated by the local communities. Choose one of our three volunteering programs - or for those with special skills, perhaps create your own! You will experience some of the most stunning scenery the world has to offer - all while giving back.
1. Volunteer Teaching in Rural School:
There is the option of volunteer teaching in local rural schools. We coordinate with the school headmaster to ensure your expertise or interests are met. Teaching English, sciences or involvement in the sporting activities. Be prepared for a lot of interest from the kids!
2. Health Camps:
For those with a medical background, we can set up health check camps in the local community. The communities are poor with limited funds and these basic medical check-ups are warmly received.
3. Social Awareness Program, Training & Community Support Activities:
The social awareness program involves educating local leaders on sanitation and bringing Western ideas to our local communities.
4. Other Skills?
If you have other valuable skills please let us know and we will look at ways the local community could utilize them.
OPTIONAL/EXTRA ACTIVITIES:
Milking cow/buffalo, visit the rice field, fishing in the pond, visit cultural villages, historical areas such as martyr bhimsen place or budi - gandaki sattle (old temple at the riverbank of Gandaki river, etc.). Or day hiking in other villages etc., with local guides.
While at Community Place:
Lodging: On your volunteering program, lodging will be with one of the local host families. It is a great opportunity to experience the local culture, but we do note that the facilities are basic with an outdoor washroom and toilet.
Food: The food will be basic but homemade (and likely to be a good change from the trek). As it is a rural village, western food is limited (You are welcome to bring some noodles, spaghetti, cheese, etc.).
Breakfast: Choice of any eggs, Tea or coffee and biscuits (Sometimes Bread and butter/Jam)
Lunch/Dinner: Nepali Food (Dal Bhat) – with plain rice, lentil soup, potato’s curry/cauliflower curry, Gundrek Sadeko (Kimchi) or pickle, etc.
Drinking-Water: We will provide you mineral water to drink safe while staying villages on our community services trip with us.

Else, join our estimated group departure dates available online or ask us with your personal dates, we will open group date on the same date.
Our Guides, Trip & Safety
Because these hikes take you on the remote Himalayan region, it is very essential that you are accompanied with the very experienced and qualified & equipped leader for the safe and successful trip. We Advanced Adventures employee the local trek guide and stuff who are trained and qualified on the trip we worked on. Our guides are trained and licensed from Nepal Gov, certify from TAAN & Nepal Mountaineering Association. All of our leading Trekking and Climbing Guide are experience from last 8 to 10 years. We have train them specially for your trip, to cater the flexible needs of our peoples in the group joining from different countries, this double assure you that your trip is at the right and professional hands.
At every trip, there would be our one Trek leader and one assistance leader on each additional 2 peoples on the trek- this arrangement would ensure that even if any of our guide/ assistance guides get sick or if any travelers gets sick and need to be back or delay the days of walking, it would still works smoothly and there would not be any impact on our original trek plan. Also each two trekker would have one Sherpa helper for carrying your trekking bags.
Acclimatization
There is no way to prepare for altitude other than to spend time at altitude. Being in very good physical condition will help ameliorate some of the exhaustion that people often feel, but it will not prevent altitude caused medical problems such as Acute Mountain Sickness. This itinerary is designed with a high degree of awareness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) in mind and to ensure a comfortable and safe adventure trek in the Himalayas. Staying well hydrated and getting plenty of rest may help.
The maximum elevation of this trek will be reached at ABC at altitude of 4130m above sea level. Obviously this altitude range is high, but as we would be e range of altitude, and we are hiking from the 820m to this altitude range with enough days of hiking en route, it is not considered a high risk zone for AMS. However, AMS could affect to the peoples indifferently.
Travel Insurance & Vaccination
You must obtain personal travel insurance to join us for our Himalayan trips. You must be having a travel insurance which must cover helicopter evacuation, trip cancellation and medical expenses. And it is suggested that you buy your insurance policy from you homeland country before traveling as it is difficult buying local travel insurance policy for foreigners in Nepal.
Vaccination is required to plan to your trip to Nepal but it is not a must to have thing to come, but highly suggested. Your doctor will have the information of vaccination you would require to the country you will be traveling.
Hepatitis A, Japanese Encephalitis, Polio, Rabies, Tetanus, Typhoid and Malaria etc. are the recommended vaccination for traveling to Nepal.

While in Kathmandu and in Pokhara, your accommodation is at 3 star deluxe hotel that comfort your stays in city and while in trek, your accommodation is at Mt. Lodge and Guest House which is clean and comfortable.
In community visits in Gorkha, you are staying in community houses that enrich your experience with local peoples.

Trekking Seasons
We do have two best seasons to attempt this trek to Annapurna Community Trek. We always suggest you to come at the right time of the year as far as possible to enjoy this trip at best weather condition.
Spring: - (March, April, May) - Best warmest time to trek. Rhododendron flowers in bloom- excellent trails and clear skies, best visibility. Good Temperature, warmest weather of the year.
Autumn:- (Mid September, October and November) - Excellent trails, clear blue skies, best visibility. Best Time to Trek
Winter Months: - (December, January and February) are also good, but it’s obviously colder. You have to be prepared for this. It is up to you to plan this trek at this cold time or not.
Summer: - Monsoon, so rain and visibility can be a big issue (from Mid June, July and August). We do not suggest you this time for the trek.

My Trek to Poon Hill was Fantastic!
Fredrick Longsis
My brother, my friend and I trekked in the Annapurna region with the company Advance Adventure with our guide named Lok. It was perfect, they are really professionals and dedicated to their customers. Lok was always there to answer our 1000 questions about Nepal and the mountains. We slept in quality guest houses, often with wifi available, a lot of choices for food. After each dinner, Lok always have some fresh fruit ready for us. I was strugling a bit walking up the trail and eighter Lok or our porters was always behind me to make sure somebody was following me at my own pace! They are really dedicated people, i definitely recommend them, really serious people!!

We can say that booking a trek with Advanced Adventures was the best decision we ever made.

We can say that booking a trek with Advanced Adventures was the best decision we ever made.
We traveled in Nepal for the first time of our life, at 49 and 52 years old, on October 2013. Carole’s life dream was to trek to Everest Base Camp. So we looked up the internet and decided to book our trip with Advanced Adventures, a Nepal local company. We can say that it was the best decision we ever made. Chet, the executive director, was very patient and replied to all the e-mails and questions we had for him to prepare our trip.
When we arrived at the airport of Kathmandu, we were taken care of by the Advanced Adventures team. They came to get us at the airport to bring us at a very nice hotel. The meals were all included and we visited the city of Kathmandu the next day with a guide just for us. For dinner at night, Chet brought us to a restaurant for a welcome traditional meal.
But the real treat started on the second day. Our guide, Lok, came with us from the hotel to the airport to take the helicopter with us. We were lucky to have an helicopter instead of a plane he said. Probably we were lucky, but we found out during our trip that Advanced Adventures makes sure to give all the best to their clients. Our guide, Lok, was always taking care of us in all matters, from our security to our meals, teas, biscuits, lodges and we never had to pay anything more than the package we paid at the beginning. Our porter, Bisnu was also so wonderful to us. He would hurry to lodges with our heavy duffle bags, so he could come back to take our backpacks so we could climb more easily to our arrival point. We noticed during the trek that we were always getting a little more from Lok and Bisnu than other clients were getting from their guides. When we came back to Kathmandu, we had a party dinner and when we asked Chet if we could bring with some friends we made on the trek, he said: ‘’Of course they can come’’!!!
We were so spoiled from Advanced Adventures that we recommend them to everybody who want to make sure they will get the best out of a trek in the Himalayas.
Thank you again to Chet, Lok and Bisnu who helped us realized this wonderful trip and accomplishment to reach the Everest Base Camp. They certainly have a nice place in our hearths for life.

We no doubt recommend Advanced Adventures to anyone willing to go trekking in Nepal.
Mrs. Marina and Mr. Tony - France
We are just back from a 12 days trek on the Annapurna Circuit, from Besi Sahar to Jomsom, and we absolutely loved it. We arrived in Nepal without having booked our trek. We had looked what was on offer online though and liked Advanced Adventures website.
Once in Kathmandu we paid a visit to their office. That’s when we met Chet who really took the time to explain everything to us in detail and answered our questions. We booked our trek about a week ahead only and met with our guide, Iswor, before the trek.
It was just the two of us, and Ishow, and our porter, Bisnu, took really great care of us. We felt really safe and learned a lot of interesting things while walking. Accommodation and food were much better than we would have expected at such high altitudes. Needless to say that the views were breathtaking.
