Trip Overview
Gokyo Valley Trek is one of the most popular offbeat treks of Everest Region. Gokyo Valley Trek, unlike Everest Base Camp Trek, highlights less known landmarks of the Everest Region, which are however not less interesting and fascinating natural wonders. In brief Gokyo Valley is a wonderful valley in the shadows of four 8000ers including Everest and the valleys of turquoise glacial lakes.
Like most of the treks in Everest Region, the Gokyo Valley Trek also begins at Lukla after the short scenic flight from Kathmandu. This trek is especially designed to passionate walkers who have desires to see the Everest and its surrounding from a different perspective. This moderate trek in Everest Region also best suits to those trekkers who prefer relatively quiet trails with less fellow trekkers.

Lukla Flight Information
Flying to Lukla (Tenzing-Hillary Airport) has its own challenges and the chief among them is the weather. Lukla is surrounded by the peaks, the weather here is unpredictable and changes frequently. Flights operate only when the weather is stable and clear visibility. The chances of your Lukla flight getting canceled cannot be ruled out. If this happens, your EBC Trek may get extended by a day or two. So, we recommend you to keep buffer days so that you may not miss your international flight.
If there is a long delay due to bad weather for Lukla flight, it is better to use helicopter flight. We will secure a space for you on a helicopter flight but the cost for the helicopter flight is not included in the trip price so, you have to pay separately for the flight.
Due to overcrowding at the Kathmandu airport during the high season (Spring- March, April, May & Autumn - October, November), flights to and from Lukla now operate from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap. The airport lies 132km (4hrs drive) from Kathmandu.

As a female traveling for the first time to Nepal choosing the right agency was critical. I want an agency who can provide answer for the hundred of questions I had, I wanted reliable people to take me into the mountains and be able to resolve all the unplanned problems that may arrive with the trek. Advanced Adventures Nepal was my answer. In doing my initial review I found this agency as one of the accredited agencies for the government to do treks, I also founded they have good review. I decided to email them with my concerns and questions related with the treks and they always responded to me. For several months I emailed with questions until I feel confident for the trek I was choosing, the itinerary, the hotel and more important to who I was paying my money.
My girlfriend and I went for the Three passes trek, with a city tour included in Kathmandu. We enjoyed our trip very much, our guide Ganesh and the sherpa Ganga were amazing. He was very knowledge, kind, patience and friendly. For the days that I was feeling sick or slow for the elevation he was there supporting us, filing a way to help us more, always smiling and made us feel we were and right hands. He accommodated the trek based in our needs and desires. He and our sherpa totally run the extra miles for us, and I can’t thank them enough.
Thank you Advanced Adventures Nepal for this unforgettable experience!!
Chet Bhatta from Advanced Adventures was very professional, responsive, and to the point.

I did Gokyo lake and Renjo pass in Dec 2017 with this company. Chet, with whom I corresponded a number of times, was very professional, responsive, and to the point. I had a great guide (Deepak). He was very responsible and caring. He also suggested going over the Ranjo pass, which was just great and became one of the highlights of my trip. My porter (whose name was also Deepak) came across as very nice and sweet. All together, I was very happy with my guide, porter, and the company. As a matter of fact, I am thinking to do another trekking with them. I would definitely recommend this company.

Advanced Adventures is the perfect mix of cost and services! We had a wonderful trip!
My husband and I looked around for a Nepalese tour company to organize our hike to Mt. Everest, and I found the perfect mix of cost and services with Advanced Adventures. From the moment we stepped out of the Kathmandu airport to the moment we returned, we were in good hands.
We had booked their trip to EBC through Gokyo Lakes, but we had flight delays into Lukla, and I came down with the flu in Namche. Despite the delays, our guide, Bhim, took it all in stride.
He rerouted our trek and booked our tea houses, as needed, and we even started calling him Dr. Bhim as he pulled steam remedies and other treatments from his seemingly bottomless first aid kit. He kept a steady pace for us, monitoring our health all the way, and we made it to Base Camp just fine.
If you’re thinking of trekking in Nepal, which I highly recommend, you’ll be quite happy doing it with Advanced Adventures.

Useful Information

Unforgettable trip!
Isis Lovo from USA
