Chisapani & Nagarkot Hiking is one the popular hiking option around the hills out of Kathmandu Valley. This hiking trail is easy trail, safe walking for peoples of any age but combines the great visits to local life, nature, landscapes, and flora and fauna of this region.
This hike starts from the drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, then continue hiking to Mulkharka, which is a Tamang village, then to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. Shivapuri National Park, established at 2002 AD, covering the lands in Kathmandu, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Sindhupalchowk districts of Nepal.
Shivapuri Nagarjun national park is located in sub-tropical and lower temperate zone of Nepal. Schima-Castanopsis, Pine, and Oak-Rhododendron are the dominant vegetation in this park.
Hiking in the mid-hill section, one can enjoy the hilly life, mixed cultural and tradition ( Brahmins, Tamang, Gurungs, Sherpas etc.) and hilly ecosystem experience in this hiking with us. Hiking trail is in proper condition, safe and easy trail but walking up hill and down hills involves at every day and you should prepare to walk minimum of 5 to 7 hours every day.
Chisapani Village and Nagarkot Hill offers great Himalayan Views including, Langtang Himalayas, Gauri Shanker and Jugal Himalayas ranges of the north-east of Nepal Himalayas.

Day 01 Drive to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisapani
Altitude 2300m/7544ft
Activities: 5 to 6 hours of walking
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Today, we will pick up you from your hotel, then transfer to Sundarijal, takes about 1 hour and 20 min drive, get off and start hiking from here. First two hours of walking will be up hill to Mulkharka village, then the trail will lead you to the Shivapuri National Park. Now walking in Shivapuri is mostly through the dense forest. Once reaching to the top of the hill, we start descend to another side of the hill to reach Chisapani. It is a wonderful local village at the bottom of the forested hill. Enjoy with mountain and local sites. O/N at Mt. Lodge in Chisapani.
Day 02 Chisapani to Nagarkot
Altitude 2175m/7134ft
Activities: 5 to 6 hours walking
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Morning, wake up to see the great sunrise panorama of East- North Himalayan Range of Nepal(Including with Langtang & Gauri Shanker Himalayan Range), breakfast then continue trek to Nagarkot. We would mostly walk through the local valleys with forested hills, then to the settlement of typical villages throughout the hills ups and downs. Final approach to the Nagarkot hill is gradual uphill which we will overnight this day. Nagarkot is one of the great hill top with great green valleys, and views of great Langtang, Gauri Shanker, Jugal and Ganesh Himalayan Range is impressive. O/N at Nagarkot.
Day 03 Nagarkot- Trek to Changu-Narayan, Visit to Bhaktapur, Transfer to Kathmandu
Altitude: 1350m/4428ft
Activities: 4 to 5 hours of walking
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Early morning, we wake up for the morning views, enjoy the wonderful sunrise views of entire central Himalayan range and after breakfast, we walk down to roadside, walk another few hours through hills and farming areas to Changu Narayan.
Further transfer to Bhaktapur Valley sightseeing- The oldest civilization city of Nepal, reserved traditions, culture and oldest historical durbar square with its interest wood carving and pottery Square. After sightseeing, transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.
End of the trip!
