Trip Overview
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and transfer you to Kathmandu domestic airport, where we will have our helicopter ready for your flight to Mt. Everest experience. After a short time of airport formalities, we will fly over to the Everest/Khumbu Himalayas.
First 30 minute of fly provide you an excellent opportunity to enjoy with the typical middle hills of Nepal with services hills toped villages, mountains terraces, river valleys etc., then we will slowly onward to the higher range of mountains which are deserted with altitude of 5000m to 6500m in a range (Great Himalayan range of Langtang, Gaurishanker & Jugal Himal are greatly seen in a distance panorama while flying from Kathmandu). Soon afterwards, we have a very closed up views of the great Himalayan Range of Khumbu Himalayas & Mt. Everest range.
As our flight is a direct approach to the Everest Base, we will fly higher on sky in mountains and left all the local valleys of Lukla, Phakding, Monjo etc. behind. The cross over to Kwangde hills and Namche, with Tengboche & Gokyo Valleys seen in a great panorama as we would be flying pretty nearby through the valleys, and obviously a great panorama of Mt. Thamserku, Kantaka, Ama Dablam, Kyandge Peak, Kyajori, great Dingboche & Pheriche Valley with Island Peak and Imja Khola valley are seen in a great panorama.
Once helicopter will reach above Louche (4910m), now we are very much into the base of the great mountains of Khumbu and Everest. This is the final high valley, which starts from Lobuche villages with Gorekshep, and Kalapathar on the top hill at the end of the base in mountains with great Khumbu glacier.
We will land in Everest Base Camp (5364m), take time to make great photos, videos, do the quick play with glacier and enjoy the amazing moment in Everest Base Camp (5364m) 10-15 minute, then over fly to Kalapathar (5545m), and make the best closed up photos and videos of Mt. Everest (8848m), Nuptse, South Col, the great Pumari etc., then return back to Everest View Hotel (3800m) for breakfast.
Here in Everest View hotel, you will have great views of 360 degree of Himalayas, take time to walk over the areas for exploration in this region. After approx. one hours plus, helicopter will pick up you from here and take you straight flight back to Kathmandu. You will reach to Kathmandu at afternoon. This entire helicopter flight would take minimum for 4 and half hours to 5 hours in total duration.
Notes: Helicopter landing in Everest Base Camp subject to the weather condition of this area and as it do not have proper helipad, helicopter have to land in between rocks, and will not switch of the engine (If they switched off the helicopter, it would start it again due to altitude and cold) so we would not have more then 10- 15 min here for photography and videography.
Also, if helicopter would not be able to land in Everest Base Camp (5364m), they will land in base of Gorekshep Hill at 5400m instead that gives you bigger view of Mt. Everest, and view of Everest Base Camp below. In an event that they land in base of Kalapathar instead of Everest Base Camp, helicopter will overfly to Everest Base Camp before returning back to Everest View Hotel.

Island Peak & EBC Trek:
Mr. Michael Edenborough
Sudarson was an excellent guide. Very flexible with the itinerary, he added extra rest days when he thought I needed them before going higher (I may not have reached Kala Patthar without the rest) and his choice of guest houses were great. He also accommodated my requests to go up another pass not on the itinerary when we had an extra day free. Highly recommend as a guide! Thanks Advacned Adventures for this great trip.
