My dream to go to the Upper Mustang region!

Max Goodman from UK

For 11 years it had been a dream to go to the Upper Mustang region. Keshav - Thank you for making it happen! I will recommend Advanced Adventures to friends looking to trek in Nepal. There are a number of things I want to highlight:

      - The service you provided whilst arranging the trek with me from the UK was professional and organised. I had lots of questions over the course of a few months, and you answered all of them quickly and we'll, which gave me confidence in the adventure we had planned.

      - As the guide, Lakpa was great. He was friendly, and in particular he was thoughtful about what I might need on a daily basis, and paid attention to what I liked. For example, a real highlight was trying the local raksi (rice wine) at the lodges, and being invited into the kitchens of the lodges, to see how the food was prepared and chat with other guides/porters. Lakpa hadn't been on the Upper Mustang Region trek for a few years due to the global COVID lockdowns significantly impacting the tourist trade - however this didn't matter, because at every step he would speak to local villagers, other guides, and lodge owners to find out tips and latest news for the route, and to get recommendations about which lodges to stay in for the following night. He even telephoned around to local people to find the keys to various temples/monasteries, which was fantastic for gaining us access to local sights. There were a number of times where we deviated from the itinerary, and he managed this well. On one occasion he learned of a better (alternative) route for 2 days of the trek, that he proposed, we discussed, and then agreed. This helped us stay away from the dirt road for 2 days, and get higher up into the mountains to enjoy the landscape and views (my primary focus). On another occasion I wanted to change the itinerary to visit an area that I had read about (and that he had not been to), and he spent time to discuss with local people and other guides to find the best way to explore that new area - which we did the next day! I was very pleased to have been able to explore the area I had heard about!

      - As the porter, Mingmar was great - he was friendly and thoughtful, helping where he could, and sharing jokes and laughs. I was so glad not to have carried all of my equipment every day - this meant that I could focus on enjoying the landscape and sights.

      - Lakpa and Mingmar brought fresh fruit for the evenings, to have after dinner. This was a lovely thought and added some good variety into the meals - so that we could choose fresh fruit some days.

I look forward to more adventures in the future!

Advanced Adventures (AA) and yet again, the trip exceeded my expectations!

Sharna King

I returned for a second time to Nepal this year with Advanced Adventures Nepal (AA) and yet again, the trip exceeded my expectations! AA tailored my trip to suit my individual requirements, and provided great guides who I now class as my friends! My trip this year was to summit Pisang Peak (6119m) and to hike the Annapurna Circuit (total 3 weeks). Both my climbing guide (Pemba) and my trekking guide provided excellent service from start to finish. We had so many laughs and experiences that I will never forget for as long as I live! Pisang Peak was exhilarating and challenging at the same time. Pem worked with me to ensure we climbed safely, and it was certainly a big achievement for me to be the first person to summit the peak this year! Also, I really enjoyed the Base Camp experience on the expedition and certainly did not go hungry! The food was amazing!

On the circuit, My guide and I led the way on the Throng La pass in thigh deep snow, and we had so much fun on that day! The scenery and terrain were out of this world! We met up with other AA guides and clients on the circuit, which was great as I was always making new friends. It never felt like I was trekking alone!

There is a great consistency in the guides that AA provide, they all have great experience, they know their domains well, and you completely trust them from day 1. Their ultimate priority is you, and this is why I always come back to AA. The service they provide has never failed me and its great to come back year after year to see people who really are my friends. They make me feel like I belong in Nepal!

I am planning to come back again in Oct and I already have my Island Peak trip booked with AA for next April. So I guess my actions speak louder than words!! Thanks to all at AA and see you in a few months!!

We no doubt recommend Advanced Adventures to anyone willing to go trekking in Nepal.

Mrs. Marina and Mr. Tony - France

We are just back from a 12 days trek on the Annapurna Circuit, from Besi Sahar to Jomsom, and we absolutely loved it. We arrived in Nepal without having booked our trek. We had looked what was on offer online though and liked Advanced Adventures website.

Once in Kathmandu we paid a visit to their office. That’s when we met Chet who really took the time to explain everything to us in detail and answered our questions. We booked our trek about a week ahead only and met with our guide, Iswor, before the trek.

It was just the two of us, and Ishow, and our porter, Bisnu, took really great care of us. We felt really safe and learned a lot of interesting things while walking. Accommodation and food were much better than we would have expected at such high altitudes. Needless to say that the views were breathtaking.
